History and Community Service

Christmas is time for giving. With advertising for dazzling new gadgets and gizmos taking over our computer screens and television sets each holiday season, the true meaning of Christmas can be forgotten. Jacksonville is a large city, with diverse areas that each offer something special and unique. The Community Nutcracker brings talent together from all over Jacksonville, and the result is not only breathtaking, but incredibly humbly. The Nutcracker Ballet brings out the whimsical culture of Christmas through childlike imagination and artistry. Most importantly, it serves as a reminder that not everyone receives gifts on Christmas or may not have anyone to spend the holidays with.

Besides showcasing local talent, volunteers are utilized to bring the production to life. Over 2000 free tickets are issued city-wide and proceeds from the performance are given to local charities and nonprofits. Our main non-profit partner is Dreams Come True. This inspiring organization turns dreams into realities for children battling life-threatening illness along the First Coast, bringing them joy and happiness during difficult times. Your attendance and support will make a world of difference for the needy of our community on Christmas Day, and we hope you’ll join us and experience the true magic and meaning of the holiday season.  view outreach >>
